Mp3 Of The Day: Cheeky Blakk – “Lemme Get That Outcha“
Cocaine blunts reader Faux Rillz was kind enough to hook up a cdr focusing on some uber obscure early to mid 90s NO Bounce shit. This is quite a revalation to me, featuring artists like Silky Slim, Joe Blakk, Tim Smooth and Li’l Goldie, all of whom are virtually unknown but should be legends in their own hood. It’s interesting to hear just how much the sound influenced the late 90s Cash Money Style. Anyway, “Lemme Get That” is one of my favorite cuts. Check out the in progress, and no doubt storied, documentary on the Bounce, Ya Heard Me?
Short update today:
Holla at the Prince Po Contest to win some free mix cds.
The infamous RARE LABEL THREAD has been ressurected over at the vinylexchange board. This shit is porno for hip hop nerds.
Next week is mid-90s indie hop appreciation week, so watch out.
